A freewill offering to be taken for Merlin Community Assistance. Refreshments are to follow. as per the Order of Service the Valetta Men's Choir, Merlin Choir, North Buxton Community Choir, Friends of Buxton Choir, Fletcher Choir, & St. Patrick's Choir, together with a piano duet by Sandy Skipper & Betty Vince, are to participate in the program.

8 Dec. 2010 -- A potluck supper is to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8th at 6pm at the Valetta Presbyterian Church. An Advent Service to follow, everyone is welcome.
8 Dec. 2010 -- St. Paul's Congregational Church is holding a Blue Christmas Service Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. The service is a time to acknowledge sadness and remember loved ones. For more information contact the church at 519-436-0255.

A Night in Bethlehem is a hands-on Holy Land experience happening at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 445 McNaughton Ave. W in Chatham, on Sunday, December 19 from 6-9 p.m. This is a free family event! Experience the busy town of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus' birth. Visit the bakery, candy shop, potter, carpenter, wreath maker, the living Nativity Stable and much more!

19 Dec. 2010 -- Sunday -- Lessons & Carols, Candlelight Service 7:00pm -- Lessons and Carols, Candlelight Service will take place on Sunday, December 19, 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy this beautiful service of scripture readings and Christmas music by the Choir of Holy Trinity. Holy Trinity is located at the corner of Selkirk and Victoria.

25 Jan. 2010 -- Burns Night: Fletcher Church held a Burns Night in 2008 and Burns Night 250 in 2009. No plans for it this year; find somewhere else if you want to attend.

. The money you had set aside for retirement collapsed, and you don't know how you will manage.
. . . We may face situations which perplex us and even threaten us. How do we respond? Where is God in the picture?
. . . "What to do when you don't know what to do" is the theme for the series of sermons which will take up up almost to Easter. Here are the titles for each week, along with the Bible paqssage they are based on (so you can read ahead).
. . . Why not invite a friend or neighbour to join you in this series? It might be just what they're looking for right now.

In the United Kingdom, good weather at Candlemas is taken to indicate severe winter weather later:
"If Candlemas Day is clear and bright, winter will have another bite.
If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, winter is gone and will not come again."

The Frasers plan to share their experience of Israel through video clips and photos, Israeli food, and a chance for discussion and questions. Supper will be provided. Come and enjoy. Lunch Tickets Are $6.00 GUEST SPEAKER: Lucy Olgetree, co-owner of Winter Wheat, Sparta, will be talking about Canadian aid for southern Sudan. Lucy will have just returned from her 3rd trip to Sudan, where she and Denise Pelley offer a music and art camp to children of Sudan.
